With the highly anticipated release of SPECTRE in November, I’ve been doing all I can to celebrate the upcoming James Bond film which even includes reading the original Casino Royale novel by Ian Fleming. I’ve loved James Bond ever since I was a kid. The big guns, the flashy cars, voluptuous Bond girls, and perfectly tailored suits have all been part of the ideal fantasy of boys and men across the globe for over 50 years now and still going strong!
As many of my regular readers and podcast audience members may or may not know, I am a huge fan of Audible which allows me to purchase audiobooks at a discounted price and listen to them wherever I am.
This month I decided to use one of the two audiobook credits I receive monthly to get the audiobook version of The Holcroft Covenant by Robert Ludlum. The book was originally published in 1978, and was later made into a movie 1985. The story follows Noel Holcroft, a young architect who finds out that his biological father was a German S.S. commander that grew a conscience about the horrors of The Holocaust before the war ended. Noel finds out that his father left him a $7 billion fund which is to be distributed amongst the survivors of The Holocaust . Holcroft is also warned that a remnant sect of Nazi sympathizers and their offspring will try and prevent him from obtaining the money and will instead use it to start “The Fourth Reich”.

On Thursday afternoon (9/3/15), Donald Trump was a guest on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show where the subject of foreign policy and counterterrorism quickly became the main focus of the conversation. Specifically, Hewitt asked Trump about how he would deal with General Qasem Soleimani, an Iranian military official with suspected ties to various terrorism groups in the Middle East, and the commander of The Quds Force which has aided the terrorist organization Hezbollah in various operations. Trump demonstrated to Hewitt that he has limited knowledge of who our most dangerous enemies are being led by fairly quickly. Rather than admit to Hewitt that he still has some research to do on foreign policy, Trump immediately accused Hewitt of throwing him a “gotcha” question and then insisted that he will soon “know more about foreign-policy then you will ever know” in a condescending tone.
